AgraStrip® Lateral Flow Devices

AgraStrip® LFDs are based on lateral flow immunochromatographic technology. Either sample or sample and conjugate mixture are absorpted by a membrane in a strip format which contains one or more test zones and a control zone. Depending on the test principle a sample containing the analyte gives a positive or negative testline. The control line should always be visible indicating that the test worked properly.

Romer Labs applies the LFD format for the detection of mycotoxins (AgraStrip® Mycotoxin), genetically modified organisms (AgraStrip® GMO) and allergens (AgraStrip® Allergens). A quantitative or semiquantitative determination of the result can be done through the AgraStrip® XReader for most of the AgraStrip® products.

The AgraStrip® Mycotoxin Test Format is a one-step lateral flow immunochromatographic assay based on a competition immunoassay format.

AgraStrip® Aflatoxin

The AgraStrip® Aflatoxin Test Kit qualitatively determines the presence of Aflatoxin B1, B2, G1 and G2, and can be performed in 5 minutes. A negative sample may be determined by the method in 1 minute as soon as two lines are visible on the strip. This method is one of the fastest methods available for a qualitative assay of total Aflatoxin.

This test kit intended for use for corn, DDGS, soybeans, cottonseed, peanuts, rice, almonds, pistachio and many other commodities. The AgraStrip® Aflatoxin dipstick test kits are available in three cutoff levels: 4 ppb; 10 ppb and 20 ppb. Each kit comes complete with 24 strips, 24 conjugate wells and buffer solution. The AgraStrip® Aflatoxin Test is recognized by the Japanese FDA and approved by the USDA/GIPSA.

AgraStrip® Mycotoxins Quantitative

 The AgraStrip® Quantitative Deoxynivalenol Test Kit quantitatively determines the presence of Deoxynivalenol (Vomitoxin) in grain, and can be performed in only 4 minutes testing time. The quantitation range is between 0.5 ppm and 5 ppm DON. Each kit comes complete with 24 strips, 24 conjugate wells and buffer solution.

The AgraStrip® Quantitative Test Kit quantitatively determines the presence of total fumonisins (FB1, FB2 and FB3) and is intended for use in corn and other commodities. The quantitation range is between 0.2 ppm and 10 ppm FUM. Each kit comes complete with 24 strips, 24 conjugate wells and buffer solution.

The quantitative AgraStrip® Test Kits are designed for the use with the AgraStrip® XReader. This device is a sensitive, easy-to-use laboratory instrument which measures the reflection or optical densitiy of the test line on the AgraStrip®. The AgraStrip® XReader allows to read four strips simultaneously. The AgraStrip® DON Test Kit is the fastest quantitative test for Deoxynivalenol (Vomitoxin) available.

AgraStrip® Allergens

 

The AgraStrip® Allergen kits, based on Lateral FLow Device technology, were developed by ifp. These sensitive and specific tests can be used as laboratory test or with a simplified protocol on-site at production lines, etc. Using the AgraStrip® devices, traces of potential allergens can be found at different production steps or in the final products, allowing an efficient monitoring of critical control points in a HACCP scheme or any other quality management system.

AgraStrip® GMO

AgraStrip® GMO Test Kits are one step, lateral flow immunochromato-graphic assays which can be used to detect a variety of GMO traits in corn and other matrices. Sample extract is wicked onto a filter membrane, and then combines with antibody-color particle complex.

Any GMO protein present in the sample binds to the antibody-color particle complex on the strip specific for testing that trait. The mixed complex is then wicked onto a membrane, which contains a test zone and a control zone for the GMO protein of interest.

The test zone captures bound GMO protein, allowing color particles to concentrate and form a visible line. A positive sample containing the GMO protein of interest will result in a visual line in the test zone. Alternatively, a negative sample will result in no visual line in the test zone. The line will always be visible in the control zone regardless of the presence of the GMO protein of interest.

The tests were developed by SDIX and are sold exclusively by Romer Labs.
