Equipment®

Besides our grinding / subsampling mills, our equipment range also includes the Romer Labs® Autospotter for TLC methods, the Romer Evap® system for sample preparation, as well as blenders for sample extraction. Mills

Romer Labs® mills are specifically designed for use in sample preparation for mycotoxin analysis, and can be used for a variety of grinding applications, including moisture, proteins, fat, fiber and pesticide analyses. Both Romer Labs® mills are easy to clean and the moving parts are easy to access.

RAS® (Romer Analytical Sampling) Mill

Grinding/subsampling mills have always fallen short in being able to grind more than corn or wheat until now. The RAS® Mill has been specifically developed for products that are difficult to grind due to high moisture and/or high oil content. Among these products are cottonseed, tree nuts, peanuts and pistachios.

A 2 lb. (1 kg) sample of corn can be ground and subsampled in 1 minute. Special features include the availability of 2 unique chute options (to allow more rapid and accurate grinding and sampling), interchangeable grinding burrs, and power drive screws to allow the grinding of practically any product. The moving parts are made of stainless steel and flashed chrome for food safety analyses.

The RAS® Mill is ideal for use in all labs where grinding and subsampling is essential, from pesticides to mycotoxins, moisture and proteins.

Romer Series II® Mill

The patented Romer Series II® Mill can prepare a representative sample quickly and easily. A 2 lb. (1 kg) sample of corn can be ground and subsampled in as little as 1 to 2 minutes. This mill simultaneously grinds and splits your samples. This is the only mill available that combines these two steps into one piece of equipment. The Series II® Mill is USDA/GIPSA approved and is used mainly for grains, feeds and foods.

TLC Autospotter™

Romer Labs® Analytical Instrument Division has designed a TLC AutoSpotter to aid in the process of thin layer chromatography.

Thin layer chromatography is an inexpensive, rapid and reliable technique which has been proven for many years. The Romer Labs® TLC AutoSpotter reduces the time traditionally associated with TLC applications. It allows accurate dispensing of contents of a 100 µL syringe in as little as three minutes and assures tight uniform spots for accurate test results.

The AutoSpotter is equipped with eighteen channels for maximum testing capabilities. Special features and calibrated controls provide accurate reproducible results every time.

Romer Evap® System

The Romer Evap® is a versatile easy-to-use system that rapidly evaporates common organic solvents.

Among the many features of the Romer Evap® System are the stainless steel design and solvent-resistant tubing. The system can be customized for either 12 or 24 port evaporation. Each row of ports can be separately controlled to regulate the amount of vacuum or may be completely shut-off when not in use. The Romer Evap® System includes a 12 or 24 port evaporator, dry bath and vacuum pump.

AgraStrip® XReader

The AgraStrip® XReader is a sensitive, easy-to-use laboratory instrument which measures the reflection or optical densitiy of the test line on the AgraStrip®. The AgraStrip® XReader allows to read four strips simultaneously.

AgraQuant Stat Fax® ELISA Reader

The Stat Fax ELISA Reader is a microstrip reader intended for in-vitro diagnostic use. It is a compact, microprocessor-controlled, photometer system designed to read and calculate the results of endpoint colorimetric assays, which are read in microtiter strips. All AgraQuant® ELISA test kits featuring breakaway strips can be read by a Statfax ELISA Reader.

FluoroQuant® Reader

The Romer Labs® FQ-Reader allows fluorometric detection and quantification of mycotoxins and is used in conjunction with Romer Labs FluoroQuant® Test Kits.
The FQ-Reader is a sensitive, easy-to-use laboratory instrument which measures the fluorescence in samples and calculates ppm or ppb utilizing customized data processing and calibration routines. This provides accurate ppm or ppb results. A thermal printer is available for data print out, or the FQ-Reader can transfer data directly to a computer.
