Our UKAS accreditation, held by both labs, means that we have the analytical expertise and in-depth knowledge in food allergen testing that today’s food producers rely on to stay efficient, productive and compliant.

Food allergen analysis is a key capability of Romer Labs, and we have the recognition to prove it. 

Both food allergen testing laboratories are ISO 17025 accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), and the Runcorn laboratory is additionally ISO 9001 certified through TUV Nord. Our team have proven expertise in the technologies essential to precise testing for food allergens: polymerase chain reaction (PCR), lateral flow devices (LFD), enzymatic assays and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Our normal turn-around time is 10 working days, but, if you’re in a rush, we can get it done within 3 days. If you need results right away, we can prioritise your samples with same-day service.

Sample submission made easy

Generally, a minimum of 50 g of the sample (where possible) is required for testing. Analytical results refer strictly to the submitted sample. The extent to which the sample is representative depends on the sampling procedure which is of crucial importance.
