Romer Labs Analytical Service Laboratory in Singapore Receives ISO Accreditation for Food Allergen and Gluten Analysis

17 August 2020 – Romer Labs®, a leading provider of diagnostic solutions for the agricultural, food and feed industries, is pleased to announce that its service laboratory in Singapore has fulfilled the requirements of SAC-SINGLAS for ISO 17025 for food allergen and gluten analysis. The new accreditation endorses Romer Labs in its technical competency to produce valid and reliable results that conform to international standards for food allergen and gluten detection.
The ISO 17025 accreditation applies to Romer Labs AgraQuant® ELISA test kits in the Singapore laboratory and includes five commonly occurring food allergens (fish, milk, peanut, sesame and soy) as well as gluten. The only treatment for food allergies is complete avoidance of foods containing the allergen or allergens in question. The same is true with gluten; only a gluten-free diet can protect the consumer from the effects of celiac disease.
Yong Wee Liau, Managing Director of Romer Labs Singapore: “Food producers looking to make sure that their products are allergen-free need to know that the analytical labs they rely on are methodologically sound. This accreditation confirms the precision and accuracy of our ELISA methods at the Romer Labs APAC Solutions Centre in Singapore. Now, our APAC customers can enjoy even faster turnaround times for ISO 17025-accredited testing for food allergens and gluten; our normal turnaround time is 5 workdays, but we offer an express option of 3 workdays.”
To celebrate the new accreditation, Romer Labs is offering customers one free allergen or gluten test with a purchase of three until 30 September 2020. For more information, please visit www.romerlabs.com/en/allergen-testing-lab-sg.
